On October 8th, 2022 Truth Rising put on an event called "The Way", for Military and First Responder marriages. Our third and final speaker of the night was Mike Sanders.
Mike is the Human Performance & Wellness Coordinator for 7th Special Forces Group. Before his current position he worked as a Human Performance Specialist physically preparing SEALs for combat in Virginia Beach. He has extensive experience and knowledge working with tactical athletes in the Special Operation Forces community and has trained many athletes ranging in age, experience, and level. Mike is also an author and is the president and founder of Junto Tribe Ministries ( https://www.juntotribe.com/ ). Most importantly, he has been married to his wife of 18 years, Julie, and has two daughters, Chayla and Grace. With his expertise in human performance Mike steps into his God-given calling by pushing men to draw close to God so they are able to fulfill their potential and purpose in every area of life.

On October 8th, 2022 Truth Rising put on an event called "The Way", for Military and First Responder marriages. Our second set of speakers were Lou & Alyssa Howk. These two may be newly weds but the path they have both had to walk to get to this chapter will inspire you to lean into God, love your spouse, and fight for your marriage. Lou is a son of the Living God, husband, father, widower, and a special forces veteran. Alyssa is a gold star widow, grieving mother, psychotherapist, and counselor educator who has devoted years of her life to researching trauma and resilience. Together these two address how to love well and with no regrets!

On October 8th, 2022 Truth Rising put on an event called "The Way", for Military and First Responder marriages. Our first set of speakers were Tim and Shawnee Trowbridge representing the LEO side of things. Shawnee speaks into "being second" and encouraging those wearing the uniform to take off the uniform when home. Tim speaks into what it was like to wear the uniform and how to know it's time to turn in your "Batman belt".
Towards the end of this episode you will hear Tim and Shawnee receiving a small blessing from the TR Team, KTF, and Elijah Mountain Ministry. Unfortunately, Tim and Shawnee's home was destroyed during hurricane Sally and they were robbed nearly $100,000 by a criminal contractor. So what is the Gospel message? It is the “good news” that God became man in Jesus Christ; He lived the life we should have lived and died the death we should have died because of our sin. Jesus took our place on the cross and died for us while we were still sinners. After three days and three nights, He rose from the dead. Because of this we can now have forgiveness of our sins and eternal life not separated from God to all who, by faith, repent of their sins and receive Jesus Christ as both their Lord and Savior.
Romans 10:9-10 “because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.”
